Celebrate the Occasion DT post--St. Patrick's Day Challenge

It's my first week on the Design Team over at Celebrate the Occasion!! This week the challenge is to create a project, card, layout, or 3D item that has to do with St. Patrick's Day. I put my mind to work. The obvious choice of Cricut cuts would be the Leprechaun from Simply Charmed. But I wanted to make it different and add my own twist....so I used my Gypsy to weld the Little Guy to an open box from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More, and decorated the sides with shamrocks and a sentiment from Designer's Calendar. I used the 'Hide Contour' feature to hide his facial features, so I could add some Peachy Keen goodness to him! Chocolate gold coins are the perfect touch to add to my Irishman's Pot o' Gold. Without further ado, here is my St. Patrick's Day treat box!!

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More, Simply Charmed, Designer's Calendar.
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Peachy Keen Stamps: Everyday Character Assortment
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen
Pebbles Chalk

Now, hopefully this wee one has inspired you to head on over to Celebrate the Occasion to join in on our St. Patrick's Day Challenge! You have until Sunday, March 13th at 11:59pm EST to link up your project!

Thanks for stopping by!

Potty Chart

So, my 2 1/2 y.o. daughter has been consistently going #1 on the potty since before Christmas....but for whatever reason, she has a hard time with #2. In fact, she REFUSES to do it on the potty at all. If I catch her "squatting" and I try to rush her to the bathroom, she absolutely throws a fit! Now, I know that it's normal for the #2 to come later, but I thought I'd try to see how I could help her overcome her issue with #2....

She's been a little over-the-top with the Little Mermaid lately...She even thought Prince Eric was a cartoon of her "daddy" which I found slightly amusing! **love you, honey!** So, we chatted about the Potty Chart, and I gave her some options of what she could have on it....and I made this for her...

Now to spare you all the gory potty training details, I will just leave you with the fact that TONIGHT....her first night on the new potty chart...she went #2 on the potty!! And she proudly put her first shell on the chart....I just hope this continues!! **fingers crossed**

I put some 'reward shells' on the chart for the pictures...she gets to put one up for each day that she goes ALL DAY on the potty. I know a lot of people give stickers or such for each successful potty endeavor, but since she very rarely has a #1 accident, we felt we needed something a little different. Every five shells she gets, she will get a small prize, and then when she hits 20, she'll get a larger one (TBD at a later date by my hubby and I!)....Man, It will be great if this works! :)

Here are close-up images of Ariel and Flounder...Enjoy!

Some Cricut Creations!!

So, I haven't been one to photograph my creations until I decided to blog about them....as a result, I only have pictures of the most recent stuff that I have made. Above is a layout that I made and framed for my BFF's 4 y.o. son for Christmas. I used Paper Doll Dress Up and Storybook. I also made similar framed art for her daughter and my 3 nieces...but don't have pictures. Bummer!

The below pictures are what I have created for my 2 y.o. daughter's room decorations. I just love the Cricut Paisley cartridge! It is so cute!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the owls on this cart!!! I will be making some more!! :)

Before she was born, my DH and I bought a personalized clock on Ebay that matched her crib bedding. When it arrived, we realized that it was just a computerized image that someone had created and shabbily put in the clock frame......but we hung it anyway, because it had her name, and matched her room. So, I knew I could do better....now that she has her toddler bed and new decorations....why not match them? This is what I came up with! (using Paisley and Designer's Calendar)

Here are the distance pictures of her room....although it is not finished just yet. The valances are still from her crib bedding and I am planning on making her some new ones....and then there is still a big space to the left of the snail/bee/frog/dragonfly pics and a whole other wall. I've got some ideas cookin' for those....and then I'm thinking of experiementing with vinyl around her windows and closet doors. Once I'm completely finished....I'll do another post! Wish me luck!

That's all for now! Happy Wednesday!! :)
