Celebrate the Occasion!!!

Hello, again!! It's Celebrate the Occasion design team day!! What does that mean, you ask? Well, it means there's a new challenge over at CTO, and you, my friends, are asked to join in on the fun!! The challenge this week is "School's Out" and the card, LO, or project MUST contain an apple. Now, that was certainly a challenge for me, because I typically think of apples going in my beginning of the school year projects!! So, I thought and thought, and decided to alter a super simple card from the Hello Kitty Greeting cartridge to make it a summer card!! I think I'm going to give it to my best friend (a teacher) when she completes the school year. It has been a stressful year for her, and I'm sure she will appreciate this card! hopefully, she won't see it on here first!! LOL!! This is my card....

I added some white and black gel pen doodles, and re-named the books to SUMMER subjects! Of course, the Peachy Keen Face adds a little somethin' as well! I wrote this inside this super quick card...

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridge: Hello Kitty Greetings
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Sakura white Gelly Roll Pen
Sakura Black Glaze Embossing pen
Peachy Keen Stamps: Everyday Character Faces

Thanks so much for taking time to look at my project today!! Now, if I've inspired you, or even if I haven't....head on over to Celebrate the Occasion and link up your own School's Out project! We can't wait to see them!! :)

Fantabulous Cricut Day!!

It's Challenge Me Monday again over at FCCB!! This week, the Challenge is "Remember When..." We were asked to create a card, LO, or project to remember a special person, time, or anniversary. Wow! This is a challenge for those of us who don't really scrapbook!!! But, that's what I'm here for!! To take on the challenges!!! So, I did just that....and created a 12 x12 scrapbook LO to honor my grandmother and her love of quilting. I had a picture of me, opening up the quilt that she made me when I was 14. I only wish I had a picture of Gram with the quilt...it would make the LO that much more special. Here it is...

And here is the picture that goes with it...

And journaling....I've NEVER journaled before...I think this is ok! :)

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: George and Basic Shapes, Nursery Rhyme
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! and patterned cardstock from my stash (sorry!)
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen
Sakura Black Glaze Embossing Pen
Gold Ribbon from my stash

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my LO!! Now, try to create something yourself to remember that special person, time, or anniversary...and link it up at FCCB to join in the fun! You have until Sunday, June 5th 11:59pm EST! Can't wait to see what you create!!

Using PageMaps...

Sandee is over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog today with another Scrappin' Saturday! Today she is featuring the super awesome website called PageMaps. PageMaps is a site to find sketches for layouts of all sizes, cards, half pages, tags, etc! This place is amazing!! You will have to check it out when you are looking for inspiration! Anyway, Sandee asked some of the DT members to help her out by showcasing a sketch from over at PageMaps. I chose this sketch:

This is an 8x8 layout sketch that I rotated and added my own twists to come up with the following LO.

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: Storybook, Nursery Rhymes, Cindy Loo, GBS
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! and Bliss stack from Me & My BIG ideas
White Sakura Gelly Roll Pen
Queen & Co. Rhinestones

I used my Gypsy to weld border cuts from Cindy Loo, along with circles from George and Basic Shapes to create the edging along the bottom. I only have one border punch, so I have to be creative!! Gotta love my Gypsy!!!

I am also entering this LO into the Getting Scrappy Challenge over at Amanda's Crafts and More. The theme was to "Get Sketchy" and create a LO from any sketch!

Thanks for looking! Head on over to FCCB to see what Sandee and some of the other DT members have done with PageMaps!

"Celebrate the Occasion" Challenge #14--Anniversary

Here we go again, Paper Crafters!! It's Design Team day over at Celebrate the Occasion!! This week's challenge is to create a card, layout, or project with the theme of an ANNIVERSARY! This was actually good for me, since there are a few anniversaries coming up in my family! Mine is in July....#5! Yay for me and hubby!! :) I broke out the Sweethearts cartridge for this one...I was happy to finally use it! I had gotten it with my Cricut Rewards points a month or so ago, and I hadn't really explored it yet! Here is my card...

I found this super card cut on the cartridge! You don't need a Gypsy to make one of these!! It's an envelope with a pull-out card with a heart cut! Isn't it to die for?? I love it! This is what it looks like put together!

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridge: Sweethearts
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Just My Type (skirt)
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper: Unsure...the background paper came from a kit from long ago. And the paper on her shirt is scraps from my stash.
Recollections Mini Brads
Stickles in Lavendar
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen
Tim Holtz by Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut Stain

Here are a couple of close-ups of the loving couple!

It's your turn to join us over at CTO!! Get out those romantic cartridges and create a wonderful anniversary project and LINK ON UP!! Can't wait to see what you come up with! :) You have until Sunday night, May 22nd at 11:59pm EST! PLENTY OF TIME!! :)

Try This Angle!! It's another FCCB Design Team day!

It's another Challenge Me Monday over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!! Doesn't that just make you smile?? It does me!! This week, the Design Team was asked to create something using a triangle and a rectangle. I'm not so good at paper piecing random shapes to create an object that actually looks like something...so I put the shapes into my background and used them to make a 9x4 Birthday card for my SIL, since her birthday is coming up at the end of the month. Ironically, the same day as mine!! :)
I used several cartridges for this card...take a look!

I used George and Basic Shapes and my Gypsy to create a rectangle border, and fit 4 triangles into the inside.
I cut another rectangle the same size as the border to create a background that was a different color than the card itself. I then used Simply Sweet, Sweet Treats, and Birthday Bash to cut out birthday-themed objects to dress up the triangles. Add a little bling in the form of rhinestones...(which I'm still gluing on because I still haven't purchased an iRock....), a piece of ribbon, and voila! A super cute birthday card for the special person in your life!

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: George and Basic Shapes, Simply Sweet, Sweet Treats, Birthday Bash
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen
Sakura Black Glaze Embossing Pen
Rhinestones: Nicole
Ribbon: dollar bin at Target!

Now, I'd love for you to see what the rest of the team has come up with for this super fun challenge! Head over to FCCB to check out the other projects, visit the DT's blogs and leave them some lovin'...and then, go create your own masterpiece! Link it up to FCCB for a chance to win the weekly prize....how awesome does that sound! :)

Thanks for coming to visit today...I always enjoy your company! :)

A couple challenges for a Spring Day!

I'm getting around to posting this a bit late, since Mother's Day was last weekend, but I created a couple of more Mother's Day cards for my SIL's with the Floral Embellished cartridge. I was on a roll with that one! I think it's just so pretty! For those of you who did not see my FCCB DT post for Flower Shower, click here...this is the first card in the series I created!

I decided to enter the other cards in a few challenges...here they are!

I'm entering this card in the challenge over at My Craft Spot. The theme is "Bling it Up!"

For the second card...

I'm entering this one in the Creative Sisters Monday Challenge...theme of "May Flowers."

And the 3rd card in the series...

I'm entering this one in the Wacky Wednesday Challenge at More Than Favors! Their theme this week is "Anything Goes!"

So sorry that I don't have time to give you all the specific papers and products that I used on these projects...I've got to go meet a friend, and want to get these entered! Leave me a comment if you want more info, and I'll edit the post later!!

Thanks for looking!!

It's time to Celebrate the Occasion! Graduation Challenge

It's a Graduation Challenge this week at Celebrate the Occasion! I really have to apologize to my regular followers, because in my opinion, this is probably the worst card I have ever put together. And it really, really does NOT meet my standards!! It's too plain, but I didn't have the time or the crafting mojo to fix it the way I wanted to!! I do like the idea of the card, and I think it would be great for something like a Kindergarten graduation. I did keep my gypsy file that had everything out on the mat, so maybe someday, I will cut it again and fix it into somethin' special!! You never know! I do hope that I get my mojo back soon, because my type A personality can't stand posting something that I don't really like!! Lol!

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: Sesame Street Friends, Paper Doll Dress Up, Just Because Cards
Cardstock: DCWV Citrus Stack, Stampin' Up!
Stamped Sentiment: Stampin' Up!

Thanks for looking! Now, create something for that smart cookie in your life and link it up over at CTO! You have until Sunday, May 8th!

FCCB Challenge Me Monday~~Flower Shower!!

It's Challenge Me Monday over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog again! This week, we were asked to create projects that contained at least 3 flowers....easy, right? So get those creative juices going and head over to FCCB to join in on the fun!! However, first, I'm going to show you what I came up with. My hubby recently surprised me with the Florals Embellished cartridge so I thought it was the PERFECT time to try it out! Once again, my card did not turn out completely the way I envisioned it, but I guess it's not so bad....I did not add a sentiment to it yet, but I do think that I will use it as a Mother's Day card, and put a sentiment on the inside at some point this week! Here it is!

Recipe:
Cricut cartridge: Florals Embellished
Cardstock: DCWV Citrus Stack, Stampin' Up!
Fiskars Border Punch
VersaMagic Dew Drop chalk ink in Spanish Olive
ribbon from my stash
Mini brads by Recollections

Thanks for looking!! You have until Sunday, May 8th to link up your project! Come on over to FCCB and join us!!
